Charlotte Recognizes 20 Students for Numerous University Achievements
The Office of International Programs (OIP) is proud to recognize a number of students, both international and domestic, with ties to our office who were recognized by the Chancellor at the recent Honors and Awards ceremony. Read the full story here.
Of the 20 students honored, no less than seven are affiliated with OIP programs and services. We are proud to see these students enhance campus internationalization as well as gain recognition for their personal achievements. Notably, 20% of the awardees are international students at UNC Charlotte.

Nneka Ubi, Chancellor’s Award winner, was also a student panelist for OIP’s Nigeria Country-Culture Workshop for faculty and staff in addition to the accomplishments listed.
The Chuck Lynch Leadership Award winner, Jesse Gonzales-Smith, participated in Education Abroad’s Global Experiences Internship Programs in San José, Costa Rica, in Spring 2023 and is enrolled in OIP’s Global Engagement Scholars Program.
Rachel Liang, University Commendation for Leadership and Service, was also a finalist in the Marian Beane Crossing Borders Writing Contest this year.
Ryan Shaw, University Commendation for Leadership and Service, participated in Education Abroad’s (EA) Singapore Management University, Fall 2023 and 2024 and was also an EA Photo Contest participant.
Kenan Moore, University Commendation for Leadership and Service, participated in Education Abroad’s France and Croatia: Global Marketing Practicum, Spring Break 2023.
