Joseph Hoff Appointed as At-Large Member of the Charlotte International Cabinet
We are pleased to announce that Joseph Hoff, Ph.D., Director of the Office of Global Education and Engagement within the Office of International Programs at UNC Charlotte, has been appointed to a three-year term as an at-large member of the Charlotte International Cabinet.
The Charlotte International Cabinet plays a pivotal role in shaping Charlotte’s identity as a global city. It actively promotes cultural exchange between Charlotte and its Sister Cities, creates a welcoming environment for all residents irrespective of their ethnic backgrounds or language proficiencies, supports global education endeavors, fosters the growth of the international business sector, and strengthens Charlotte’s non-profit international organizations.
Hoff’s appointment as a committee member representing the education and non-profit sector aligns seamlessly with the mission of the Office of International Programs (OIP) at UNC Charlotte, which is dedicated to advancing global education and engagement. In his role at OIP, Hoff coordinates a large range of globally oriented academic and co-curricular programs that offer the UNC Charlotte community invaluable opportunities to interact with diverse cultures while developing essential global competency skills. Hoff serves as the lead in OIP to oversee key signature programs such as the annual International Festival, the Great Decisions speaker series, International Education Week, and more, contributing significantly to UNC Charlotte’s global engagement and diversity initiatives.
These initiatives are not only enriching but also integral to cultivating a more culturally aware and globally competent community within the university and the city of Charlotte.
